Our meeting regarding the expiring tax cuts went well with three in attendance. We enjoyed turkey sandwiches, curry lentil soup, cheese and crackers and tea and coffee while we watched the film chosen for the day.
We viewed I.O.U.S.A., a PBS production, which addresses the history of our national debt, the events and policies that have affected it, what the debt will mean for our future and what will need to be done in order to get it under control. I got the copy from the Chalmer Davee Library at UWRF and highly recommend watching it on your own if you were one those that couldn't make it.
We had a late start, so were unable to write our letters as a group, but will be sending them out on our own. You still have time to contact the senators to persuade them as the senate was not able to bring the vote to the floor yet. Please write your senators!
